When Life Gives You Lemons
An online exhibition of works created in three spring 2020 printmaking and screen printing courses taught by Adrian Rhodes. All works are on paper, hand cut by X-acto knives. Students in these printmaking classes were scheduled for an exhibition in the Passage Gallery to showcase the work they had done in the print shop this semester. When they found themselves working from home, they used their creativity to create amazing works using what supplies and materials they had available. These works of hand-cut paper wouldn't exist if the plans for the term hadn’t been scuttled— and thus are a beautiful example of artists working through adversity to create amazing art. For an artist, when life hands you lemons— you make lemonade.
“They have really shown the adaptivity and creativity that makes for great artists - using this time as an opportunity to explore a new medium and create some truly exceptional work.” -Adrian Rhodes
