Inquietude

As one of the hardest times in my life and still climbing, this project started as a self-reflective photo essay but grew as more began to happen in my life. Times got darker, taking photos got harder, and I became increasingly distant from my craft.

This series follows my journey through places stapled into my brain as “anxiety scenes,” but are soon offset by others that ease my constant restlessness. Through comparing and contrasting the tattoos embedded in my skin with urban nature I discover during meditative walks, I find reminders of hope, growth and triumph.

The use of a large format camera in this body of work allowed me to slow down the image taking process and further immerse myself in my surroundings.
