Open Workshop, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, in McMaster 334
The workshop will focus on developing the altered found book as an object and an idea. Participants should bring whatever found books they wish to alter and small artifacts or objects able to be attached or placed on the book. Other supplies (X-Acto knives, adhesives) will be supplied. Those wishing to participate should contact Peter Chametzky, chametzk@mailbox.sc.edu, who will send them several short texts written and supplied by Buzz Spector for them to read in advance.
Both events are free and open to the public.
This lecture series is supported by an endowment established by Elizabeth M. Marion (1922-2016) of Greenville, South Carolina, a native of Columbia and seventh generation alumna of the University of South Carolina. Marion artists present a public lecture and lead creative workshops open to students, faculty, and to the community.
