Intermediate Drawing II
Students in Intermediate Drawing II, taught by Prof. Sara Schneckloth in Spring 2020, produced a number of drawings for their final assignment. This project asked students to take diverse drawing techniques and compositional strategies they’ve learned in class, and to synthesize them into a well-planned and well-executed conceptual drawing that expresses a specific concept they can articulate in the form of a single word. The word should be embedded somewhere within the image. The instructions for the drawing were for it to be executed on larger paper (minimum size 22x30 inches), and use a minimum of 2 different drawing media (maximum of four). The drawing should their chosen word visually integrated into the piece in a creative way, speaking to one’s interpretation of the word, and combine elements drawn from life and from the imagination.
