Artist Residency Program Application// Summer Sessions 2019

Deadline to Apply: Monday, March 11th, 2019 

The summer residency sessions are open to adjunct faculty and graduate students in the School of Visual Art and Design. You must be either a current adjunct faculty, teaching during AY 2018-2019 or 2019-2020, or a current graduate student (or graduating in May 2019 with your graduate degree). Small collaborative groups may apply.

Requirements: 

You must participate in the Third Thursday Open Studios during the month of your residency. This is an event when all of the studios within Stormwater Studios are open during the evening and when the resident artists engage in conversation about art and art practice, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. You should arrange to be working in the SVAD Studio on days Stormwater Studios are open to the public: Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm. You are encouraged to hold an exhibition of your work towards the end of your residency.

1.        A one-page proposal with plansfor your time here. What do you hope to accomplish? What works are you hoping to start or complete? How would you like to engage SVAD students and the local community?

2.        A resume or CV

3.        10 images of current work, or a link to your website

4.        Please rank the residency sessions in order of preference:

a.        Session A: May 7th– May 31st

b.        Session B: June 1st– June 30th

c.        Session C: July 1st– July 31st

d.        Session D: August 1st– August 31st
